Weekly rewind - W51 ⏪

⏪ Week in rewind
🩺 My health issues seem to have finally passed. I had a gastroscopic checkup last week, which wasn't too much fun, but also one that came out empty. So looks like a combination of viral infection, stress, small stomach issues,... that caused my suffering. But I'm happy it's behind me. I'm feeling great again and my data resembles this as well.
🏃♂️ I've been wanting to get fully into running again, but coming out of the marathon, I decided to start gradually, to keep the load on my body manageable. Now is not the time to get injured. I only did a few short and very easy runs, and enjoyed my longer run on Sunday in the company of my oldest son, first running and biking alongside afterwards.
📙 I've been doing a lot of reading last week, mostly in a new running book I got called Norwegian Singles Method. It describes daily training but at a lower intensity to be able to sustain it. I found this very interesting, so I'm giving it a go in the upcoming months to up my fitness.
📔 I'm still using my analog journal, and I'm enjoying it very much. So much that I decided to use an analog journal for my running and planning as well. The feel of manually completing a day, or the yearly progress view... I've been using a lot of apps, but not one comes close to this experience.
🏅 As you may have noticed, I'm completely into running at the moment. I assume because I recently completed a marathon, feel happy I can run again AND have already registered for 3 events next year. 2026 promises to be an active year, with already one 10miler and 2 marathons planned (Amsterdam and Valencia).
⌨ I've again spent only few time online. Work, reading and the family consumed much of my time. And while it's not all bad, I noticed that once I stopped doing my usual online things, it became harder to restart. Like publishing articles, snapshots, ... I'm happy these weekly rewinds are an internal automation that make think and write about the past week, bringing me back here. And in the mean time, act as a trigger to publish some new snapshots.
📺 Watched
📺 We started watching Lockerbie: A search for the truth, which is very captivating. Perhaps because I remember pieces of it as a child, or there's more to it than just a simple plane bombing story. Very interesting and enjoyable.
📺 I also watched a few more Viking episodes.

- Intervals.icu. While reading Norwegian Singles Method, I learnt about this platform as a way to keep track of your fitness, progress and training. It's easy to use and connect to any of the popular sports watches and services. It's perhaps too extensive for many but if you're serious about your fitness and training, have a look at this free platform.
