Weekly rewind - W45 ⏪
I’ve never seen parakeets in the wild where I live, but this week, we had four in our garden feasting on the remains of our sunflowers.
Week in rewind
• Most of the week, I’ve been struggling with my stomach, as was my oldest son. My Garmin also indicated reduced HRV health stats, so I took it easy on the sports front as a precaution.
• My youngest son had hand surgery on Tuesday following last week’s bowling accident. It was his first time in a hospital, but luckily, it was a short visit. By midday, he was cleared to go home, and to our surprise, he was even able to return to school the following day. (Un)lucky him!
• I’ve heard a lot of good things about omg.lol and, as a Mastodon user, was particularly interested in their social.lol instance. After exploring the community and engaging with some members, I decided to join omg.lol. Many of them are bloggers too, so it’s not only about friendly interactions but also about learning from others.
• As part of the next steps of my blogging journey, I decided to show my commitment by getting my own custom domain gobino.be and designing two custom themes (light and dark) for it.
• I’ve been organizing my Obsidian vault—where I keep my journal and a lot of knowledge—by adding tags and filtered views to quickly retrieve important notes, like holiday plans and family events.
• Today, I worked on some compilation videos of some of our past activities and holidays. I love the end results, though I often put off this project since it’s always so time-consuming.
• I'm also very happy how my writing week turned out with a few posts published this week: Cherishing life luck and good health ✍️, Mela — Better recipe organising and meal planning 📱 and Saying thank you - more often ✍️.
Watched
- Society of the snow (★ ★ ★ ★ ☆): This is the story of a rugby team crashing in the Andes, struggling to survive until rescue. I knew of the story from watching Alive, but this version, in its native language, felt more immersive, with a stronger focus on character depth and survival.
Reading
Due to not going to the office or doing much sports, I haven’t made much progress in my reading.
- Pillars of the earth: still ongoing, but already a book I can recommend.
Listening
Not much time for listening this week.
Apps in focus
Nothing new to report.
Fitness log
Not much activity this week. I really need to pick up the pace in the next ones.
- Biking: 5km
- Running: 7km
