Weekly rewind - W43 ⏪
⏪ Week in rewind
🤒 Sickness seems to be following me/us around. While I felt ok at the start of the week, I've been feeling a bit on and off for the past week. Strangely, my data showed perfectly ok for the whole week, so this was a great reminder that tech can spot outliers, however, it can't help with or explain everything. Over the weekend Marge got sick and stayed in bed most of the time, so I believe a viral infection is still simmering in my body. Not enough to show in my data, but still having an impact on my overall wellbeing.
🏃 With my health being allover the place, I made adjustments to my training plan. Out of the 6 planned trainings, I still completed 4 sessions, of which both intervals, but skipped my long run of Yesterday. During both intervals, my legs and HR felt good, but I noticed my breathing was more difficult. Looking back, a clear sign of that viral infection active in my body. I'm happy I decided to skip the long run, not to overload my body, but I'm starting to have doubts towards my goal as I already had 3 weeks were my running was impacted.
📧 I'm continuing my journey with Proton, making the switch to the email plus plan. Digging deeper in email and protecting yourself online, I think a split between the email accounts that you use and give to all providers is needed. Proton offers 10 aliases with the Mail Plus plan, and an additional 10 "hide my email" aliases to get even more control on who's able to reach me. I did not go for Unlimited plan as that is way more in terms of features and cost of what I need. An additional upgrade of Proton Pass (their password manager) is not possible, so I'll continue using 1Password as our family solution for storing and sharing passwords.
⛔ I'm having in internal discussion with security at our company. For some reason, they are blocking emails from and to Proton, as likely spam was received from 1 address (or so I'm told), while everything Google, Outlook,... can remain working 🤷♂️ I asked why they haven't used the same method with Google in case of spam, but no answer yet...
📸 I'm happy I've been shooting and publishing a lot more Snapshots again.
⌨️ I recently went back to the iOS default keyboard, as messages sometimes showed behind the keyboard (which now I believe is an iOS26 bug). And I thought that my typing had worsened as my output contained a lot of typos, but it seems more people are experiencing a broken iOS keyboard.
💀 My blog was also unreachable on Saturday, just like many others, due to an issue with the custom domain config. Once Herman was notified he quickly fixed the issue and shared the link to his Status log, to check if all Bear services are working as expected.
📺 Watched
📺 I continued watching Vikings.
🎞️ I also watched Bad Boys - Ride or die. I enjoyed the first movie and since this one was directed by 2 Belgian directors, I gave it a go. And I enjoyed it.
