Weekly rewind - W43 ⏪
It’s almost Halloween. And while it’s not a real tradition here in Belgium, some people are into it and decorate their houses. And while not an overly-decorated house, this scenery did catch my eye and attention as a nice shot.
Week in rewind
- I do want to keep focusing on writing blogposts, yet, I feel the calling to modifying my layout. So far, I’ve not changed much, but I did start working on a categories pages to set the focus of my blogposts. I also added icons for easy understanding what each blogpost is about. Strangely, while my original idea was to blog about apps & tech, I didn’t publish as many articles about it as I did about fleeting notes. Seems you’ll only know what you’ll blog about when you actually start doing it.
- While my oldest son is already playing football (the European soccer) for many years, the twins now also started with sports activities. As a result, I’ve become a dad taxi, driving them anywhere needed and cheering them on. This, 5 days a week. Doing this only made me appreciate my dad even more, driving me around the country at least once a week when I was playing inline-hockey in the national league.
- Some boys had a cold this week, and I was unlucky to get it as well. Not as bad as not working or do anything, but bad enough not to do many sports and requiring a few early nights to recover.
- My girlfriend, her brother, sister, and dad all have their birthdays close to each-other, so today we had a big celebration together. I truly enjoy these moments together with the full family and children. The only issue is that we all leave with an overfilled stomach, as the food and desserts are always too good not to have an extra scoop.
- As we have a trip with the family coming up, parts of the week were also spent and preparing for it. While I do enjoy going on these trips, the packing for them always feels like a burden.
Watched
Busy evenings with late meetings and activities, so only watched a bit of Vikings.
Reading - continued
- Audiobook: Pillars of the earth by Ken Follett
- Kindle: The man with a thousand faces by Lex Nooteboom
Same as last week, but with the audiobook being 40h in total, I need a bit more time to complete it.
Listening
For this week, Jack White — No Name has been on repeat constantly. I found it among my saves in MyMind, and I’m so happy I checked it out. The sound and lyrics of this album do appeal to me.
Apps in focus
Of all the apps, I’ve been using this week, no new ones made the cut, but these still are a pleasure to use.
Fitness log
A broken down cargo bike, being a bit sick and our family celebration contributed to a less active week.
- Biking: 79km
- Running: 16km
