Weekly rewind - W42 ⏪
It’s 22h, and I just arrived home from a run. I know, I said I would rather bike as the evenings are dark and get colder and wet. But today, it’s actually still warm outside and a new purchased headlight gave me the motivation to put on my running shoes and go out the door.
Week in rewind
- As mentioned in the intro, I’m splitting my fitness training between running and biking due to season changing. This sparks my motivation and allows me to catch up on tv shows and movies, where after some decision perks I eventually settled on Vikings.
- I managed to remain consistent in blogging the past week, coming from a motivational dip. Some inspiration here and motivation on Mastodon pulled me through, while I've also starting using small time-slots to write instead of waiting for a full focused session.
- Our cargo bike which we use to bring the boys to school broke down on Saturday. We already used it for more than 10.000 km, so repairs can be expected, but you never how much you need something until it breaks down. Likely, I’ve already found out it’ll be an easy battery (although not cheap) replacement.
- This weekend it’s the annual fair in our city and while I don’t truly enjoy its accompanying carnival of attractions, this year they held a “low noise hour” so you could enjoy them without too much sensory overload.
Watched
Again, not a week with a lot of television, but I did progress a bit into season 2 of Vikings.
Reading
- Audiobook: Pillars of the earth by Ken Follett
- Kindle: The man with a thousand faces by Lex Nooteboom
Listening
Most of my runs were spent on my audiobook (which I absolutely love), but I did start listening to Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat from Charli xcx as it was recommended by the Guardian and other websites.
Apps in focus
Besides these 2 recommendations from last week, I’m also adding Ivory to the list. I’m enjoying Mastodon more and more, and Ivory significantly improves the experience.

A quick overview of my weekly activities to see if I’m improving.
