Weekly rewind - W38 ⏪
⏪ Week in rewind
🏃🏼 With my increased running power, my training sessions became much harder. I had to push more to maintain my intervals, while the long run of yesterday became longer and even harder at the end. But everything went really well and according to plan, so coupled with good rest and recovery, I'm on track to be ready in December.
🧠 I played around some more with Obsidian bases, and I really like it. I also started using the Web Clipper to capture movies, books,... I already reference what I watch and read in Obsidian, so with this combo, I'm thinking of removing other tools which I currently use as trackers.
⌚ I had a short watch identity crisis as to what to wear during the day. For more than a year, I used my Garmin for daily wear over my Apple watch, with the idea to be on top of my health metrics and remind me to act and think like an athlete. However, by using Bevel to get a holistic view of my wellbeing, I came to the conclusion that wearing my Garmin all day didn't provide better insights, or even benefits. So after some deep thought, I went back to my old Apple Watch 6. And besides the health view, I see now that it also reduces my screen time as I can do actions without my phone.
🎾 My friends and I took a padel lesson, and even though we’ve been playing together for years and weren’t sure we’d learn much, it turned out to be really valuable. Seems that our position play was completely wrong, both at the net and baseline 🙈 So with this lesson we now know where real padel players position. Not too close to the net, and behind the baseline, not in front of it.
📱 I upgraded my phone to iOS 26, and while I'm still not completely sold on the glass design, it's growing on me. Especially certain customisations (like lock screen,...) and the look of updated apps. However, readability-wise, it's not perfect, as sometimes overlays can be hard to read.
📷 While I have been shooting daily, I still haven't found the perfect mood.camera recipe for my shots. Maybe it's the inner critic or the comparison with my X100VI shots, but I always find something in my phone shots I'm not happy about.

📱 Apps in focus
Kagi News (iOS). A neutral daily news curation from the Kagi. The nice thing is that you can tweak what news you see as well as the language, making it more your own.
Kagi summarizer (iOS). And while checking out their news app, I also stumbled on their summarizer app that can provide an AI summary of web articles. It's quick and easy to use.
