⏪ Week in rewind
👨⚕️ While I only did a few easy runs since my 20K event of last month, my knee was still acting up after each run & bike session. I finally took the time to see a doctor who diagnosed it as irritation of my knee cap, probably due to too much training or worn-out running shoes and prescribed some anti-inflammatories and a week of rest. It's a pity, as I really wanted to increase my weekly volume to ensure I'm ready when my marathon training starts.
🪫 I'm not sure if it's due to my inability to run, rising stress at home, or not having any immediate goal(s), but I've had a lot of days where I've been low on mental energy. Many of the things that I had to do, even personal health actions, were either not done or only done partially, even knowing of the consequences or benefits of doing them. I wanted to write this weekly rewind a few days ago, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I've always had these ups and downs, but lately the downs have taken the upper hand and I haven't found a way yet to overcome them.
📚 Last week, I mentioned I was struggling with a good RSS setup, but after writing A baseline reset ✍️, on how taking a step back is needed to assess what you really need, I realised I was complicating my workflow and wanted too much. So after this epiphany, I settled for Inoreader as my main feed manager & reader when on Windows, with Reeder Classic for when I'm on iOS & Mac. I chose Inoreader over Feedbin as I didn't want to go for another subscription. To receive newsletters in Inoreader, you need a subscription, but with the nifty Kill the newsletter tool, I was able to convert newsletters to RSS feeds. So now my email inbox also looks a lot cleaner.
🃏 Having played Meteorfall before, I downloaded Meteorfall: Rustbowl Rumble which was released last week on iOS. And having done so, I fell into a rogue-like deck-building rabbit hole, searching for and playing other games as Slay the Spire and Vault of the Void. These games fit my style of casual play, strategy and turn-based mechanics.
📸 I managed to find some time to clean up my photo archive. I moved all albums which I processed to our NAS, freeing up 30+ GB of disk space. And while I did enjoy holding my camera and shooting with it over the weekend at the birthday party of my niece, I didn't shoot much else.
📺 Watched
- 📺 Andor. I finally finished season 2 and I loved it.
📱 Apps in focus
- Flow Launcher. A free, quick file search & app Launcher for Windows. I've been looking for a long time to find a similar tool like Raycast or Alfred for Windows, and while Microsoft PowerToys was ok to launch apps and settings, but didn't support all my needs. For example, quickly launching a browser bookmark. Flow launcher does support this and a lot more. And it has a lot of plug-ins you can install to extend its functionality.
🏋️ Fitness log
- 🏃 Running: 0km
- 🚴 Biking: 60km
