⏪ Week in rewind
🏃 I ran my 20km race yesterday. I was really looking forward to it, however, the experience turned out to be different from what I expected. Last week, I caught a cold, saw my HRV dropping and started to feel tired throughout the days. On top, my knee pain increased, which stopped me from doing preparation runs. I felt a bit better yesterday, but still not optimal. I did run the event alongside 40.000 other enthusiasts, but was never able to reach my potential. I was 12 minutes slower than last year, and far from my goal of this year, but I'm happy to have pushed through (the pain) and finish the event. Today, I'm sore, but already looking for the next event to run.
✅ I've been having issues with completing outstanding tasks, and came to the conclusion this might be due to having my daily habits and routines in my task manager as well, causing an uncompleted overload. So, I moved all habits to a dedicated app (Awesome habits), resulting in a much cleaner tasks overview. On top, I've added the habit of cleaning my todo manager daily into Awesome habits, which, due to its daily scoring, helps me to complete all my tasks, or at least pushes me to re-plan them when I'm able to complete them.
📷 Fujifilm announced a new camera, which got me intrigued, the X half. It's designed to take vertical shots (while you can rotate it for horizontal shots), has a viewfinder without preview, no RAW output and has a camera mode which locks image export until all 36, 54 or 72 shots have been taken. Mimicking the behaviour of old film cameras. First impressions all seem positive, and with its small size, the X half does look appealing. One thing I'm unsure about, though, is whether I'm willing to hand over all control to the camera, not knowing what I get until the shot is taken.
📱 To get familiar with this, I'll play around even more with my favourite iOS camera app, Mood.camera, which offers the same behaviour. Use a film simulation, take a shot and only see the result afterwards. For anyone using or interested in mood.camera, I launched my own classig Neg recipe for nice out-of-the-box shots (see intro image).

Awesome Habits (Mac/iOS). I just started using and it already became my favorite habit tracker as it allows me to set up different reminders per habit (so I can be notified multiple times per day), has shortcuts integration (for example to complete a habit by closing an app) and has a total completion percentage (pushing me to complete all habits for the day).
Onrise habits (iOS). In case you're looking for a free and simple habit tracker, have a look at Onrise.

Dump your inner judge by Sylvia. Don't let the inner critic silence you. Very familiar feeling and a reminder to do what you want/should do without judgment.
The Niche Myth: Why Being a Jack-of-All-Trades Isn't Career Suicide, which contradicts the trending post Why you Should Specialise and Stay Narrow? by Living Kindfully. It's not wrong that by specialising, you'll be much better at something than if you fragmented your work and interests. But there's also nothing wrong with being a generalist and a jack of all trades. I've been a generalist all my life, and while I don't outperform in any area, I'm capable of doing many things. I'm happy with that, people come to me with all sorts knowing I have knowledge about it.
