Weekly rewind - W18 ⏪
⏪ Week in rewind
🧒 With a few bad days with the twins, I reflected on their behaviour and how it affects us. The grass is not greener on the other side, confirmed by a neighbour yelling at her children, so I wrote It's ok to sometimes feel miserable as a parent, about showing the difficulties we all face, yet do not often show or talk about. To everyone who reached out to me, thanks for your kind words.
⚽ Football season has officially ended, but there are still tournaments to be played. Nelson was thrilled to play one on Thursday, which he and his team did rather well, given it was a very hot day.
🏃 I've been able to remain committed to my running schedule and strength training. Perhaps it's due to my 20k race in 3 weeks, but I felt energised and focused to run 6 days and do strength training daily. I did a 21k easy run yesterday, where, in comparison to last week, my legs felt ok, but now my stomach acted up.
📱 Once I saw the announcement that Raycast for iOS got launched (Thanks Hiro), I downloaded it and gave it a go. Initially, I found it to be underwhelming, lacking the launching features I heavily use on Mac, and got upset by the big focus on AI. However, after watching the announcement, I could see past the AI and created an easy launcher for websites, apps and snippets. I wasn't able to find the Open app command to launch apps, but with the help of x-callback URLS (like things://), I could enable Quicklinks for my preferred apps. In case you need help with app URLS, I found an extensive list.
📱 By testing Raycast, I started looking into other workflows on my phone and afterwards optimized how I use Drafts for quick entry and updates, and added some new shortcuts to launch my photography stack (without the need to go digging in the app library).
📱 I'm working to add an app library to the website as I use and test quite some apps. With this library, I know which ones I covered and can easily find one which I might need. Instead of using an external application for this library, it'll be hosted through this website and prettified with the help of DataTables.
📷 I've not been able to take many photos last week, mainly as I was focusing on my runs and execution of each one, but I did take some snapshots.
