Weekly rewind - W09 ⏪
The curly shapes of an apartment building.
⏪ Week in rewind
☀️ I love how the weather is at the moment. Cold during the night, reasonable during the day and a lot of sunshine. A breath of fresh air following the dark and wet previous period. It's really inviting to go out and do something, getting some much needed vitamin D.
🌅 Besides changes to my morning routine after getting up, I also made some changes to how I start my working day. No longer do I procrastinate on what I will start with. A predefined list of tasks for the day is ready when I open my work PC.
📷 I'm continuing on my photography journey and have taken more photos than ever before. I completed the second challenge of the photo composition challenge, called leading lines, and published more photos for the 100 pics challenge.
🏃➡️ Although I wasn't able to complete all my planned runs, I feel my fitness is progressing. In addition to running, I've started to incorporate easy strength training in my routine. Push-ups, crunches,... on one day, lunges, squats,... on the next. I get queues for each workout and follow-up on my progress by using the Streaks workout app.
✍️ I've continued to use 750 words as a way to think and offload my thoughts in the morning. This has been working well for me. It only takes 20 minutes, but I feel clarity and focus afterwards, often taking action on something that was pending for some time.
🎮 Games
🐵 Return to Monkey Island. I stopped playing it some time ago, but I restarted it as something to play with low dopamine exposure and requiring some focus and attention to go through all dialogs and remember what to do.
🏛️ Civilization 7. Still trying to understand its mechanics through one more turn.
📺 Watched
📺 Shogun
📺 Skeleton Crew. I didn't really have high hopes for this one and thought it would be more for children, but I'm enjoying this adventure story in the Star Wars universe.

📱 Apps in focus
Streaks workout (Mac/iOS). Cheap and easy to use. Use predefined workouts or create your own and follow the queues on what to do.
Peat (iOS). A habit tracker without the focus on completing streaks. Logg when you complete something and get a nice visual view of it all.
Quitzilla (iOS/Android). Designed to help you quit addiction and bad habits. Add something you want to quit and see its progress over time (Time/money you saved) and get some queues on holding out. It's a nice design, but 30$/year for quitting one habit might be too much.
