Weekly rewind - W01&02 ⏪
The last few years I seem to be struggling with winter more and more. The cold and darkness hit harder and harder. But as I was sick in November/December and couldn’t run, my mental wellbeing took an even heavier hit. Adding a lack of sleep due to New Year's Eve resulted in being unfocused and unmotivated for the whole of last week and not being able to write anything as before, like my weekly rewind of WK01. So adding it here for the record.

Week 1 & 2 in rewind
Just like every year, we enjoyed New Year's Eve with our friends. We get together at a big location where there's enough room to cook, play and sleep so everyone can party and enjoy at their pace. It's also the first time our boys got to see the fireworks. Our middle son didn't enjoy it that much. After a few seconds, he returned downstairs to play on his iPad. Letting them stay up late had its consequences as they were dead-tired the next day and we had to resort to TV to keep a calm atmosphere at home.
The following Friday we went to the zoo. I was a bit unsure of going due to the weather. It was very cold, but it in turn provided a beautiful scenery. With darkness falling it became even more beautiful with numerous lit-up animals and objects.
The Christmas holidays are over, and we're back to the normal routine of work, school and after-school activities. Luckily, some activities got cancelled due to bad weather so we didn't have to go all in yet into the back to normal routine.
I started working again on Monday last week, but couldn't find the motivation or focus to be at my normal best. In the end, returning to the office on Thursday turned out to be the best choice. Being amongst colleagues and having some casual chats, brought back some motivation.
This regained motivation enabled me to go for a run yesterday, accompanied by my son on his bike. This run brought me all the energy I was longing for in the past 1.5 weeks. I immediately planned more runs with my Garmin coach and already did a walk during lunch today.
Watched
Wolfs (★★★☆☆): With a free weekend of Apple TV, we watched Wolfs staring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, 2 fixers called to the same crime scene to clean up. The chemistry between to two is good, the plot and movie itself a bit less.
Babylon (★★☆☆☆): Perhaps we should have done some research for this movie, but as it was about to leave Netflix, we gave it a go. It's a bit too fast-paced and absurd that we stopped watching halfway the 3h story.
Squid Game (season 2) (★★★☆☆): We binged all episodes of season 2. It feels a bit the same and predictable at times yet it sucked us in, longing for season 3 to appear later this year.

- Mood Camera. I've been having a lot of fun with this recipe-based iOS camera trying to reduce the artificial look of out-of-the-box shots. It's the first one that I really like and via which I can create the look of my images without processing afterwards.
