My running boot sequence ๐
I may sound like a broken record, but I'm excited for what's to come. Next week I'll start my real marathon training. No more playing around. Only following the designed training plan.
This means a lot more running and a lot more time spent doing it. Less time for other things, but I don't mind. And I'm happy and grateful that my family allows me to do this.
Only recently I became focused and dedicated to my running again. And it shows, how I think and act.
All my devices are charged before I go out of the door. I use a different pair of running shoes depending on the training type. I make sure I drink and eat well.
And, I start each workout with a small preset ritual.
A startup playlist with 2 songs.
When I had the idea and created the list I thought of adding more songs over time, however, the 2 I initially added were enough to create the effect I was looking for.
Whenever I play this startup playlist, it puts my mind in focus for what's the come. I forget everything else, and feel strong to go out and perform what I need to do.
This first songs tells me to be strong and endure, while the second is from my student days, with high energy beats to get me pumped up.
Since I've used this startup procedure, I go out happy and focused, each and every time.
Once the playlist has ended, I either play another one with 180bpm focus music (for when I do intervals), listen to an audiobook or let my mind wander.
Running or any other activity doesn't need to feel hard to get started.
Add something fun beforehand to ease into it.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
