My Blaugust conclusion ✍️

I made it! I finished the Blaugust challenge.

Today marks day 31 of consecutive writing. While I told myself to write "dailyish", I eventually settled on a daily schedule, to keep the practice alive, and to keep myself focused.

I never wrote 31 days in a row, and while I told myself to take it easy and keep it short, I spent enough time on each post to keep myself at a decent standard, as what I do with most things in live. So I'm proud of myself for reaching this milestone, and what I wrote.

I already did a partial review in Passing the Blaugust halfway mark 🏆✍️, but today on day 31, I'm looking back at the whole experience.

Everything of what I wrote back then, is still valid. Although some items might have changed for good or worse.

The inner critic still rules, but I feel that with every piece that I put out here, it's getting better. Also, the secret Pagecord photo project helps me to post without any expectations.

Halfway, I already connected with some nice people, and that only increased for the second half. I'm grateful for everyone of you that reached out to me and the interactions that we had. Also, once I got back home from holidays and started to have more time, I dedicated more time following the writing of others. I increased my RSS list, and it's with great joy I open my RSS reader daily to see new entries appear. There's so many good and interesting writing.

But while it did read and write daily, I did not yet settle on a good writing habit when it comes to the when of my writing. Sure it depends on how busy each day was, but still, there was no set time of when I would do it. So more ad hoc, rather than planned. While I was on holiday, it was clear. I wrote in the evening and was done with it. But once I got home, the when was not so clear, and I also started to spent a lot more time on my writing and blog. Sure, that was what I wanted, but not at the expense of my work for example.

So, while I overall enjoyed this whole experience very much, I lost my grip on the amount of time doing it.
Continuing my writing, this will be an action point, to define a time when to do it, and to restrain myself from spending too much time on it.

With the conclusion of Blaugust, I might take it easy in the next few days, although I still want to write frequently, and ensure I keep showing up. Not to fall back in my old habit of putting my writing and blog in the background. I still have ideas and drafts in my notes, so it shouldn't be too hard to show up.

Thank you for following my journey.
I'll see you in the next days.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
